GSoC 2016 : Open Supporter Data Interface (OSDI) API Implementation (beta)
February 20, 2016, 10:21:04 pm
Hi,

Warm greetings to all CiviCRM community members.

I'm Anudit Verma, 3rd year Computer Science undergrad from USICT Delhi, also a GSoC student for the year 2015 who worked on implementing a new API for CiviCRM. (Project : https://github.com/anuditverma/org.civicrm.osdi).

It has been a great year for me in the CiviCRM community, learned a lot from my last year's project mentors Joe McLaughlin and Eileen McNaughton and community members Joe Murray, Xavier, Tim ; also I received overwhelming responses from Civi community at various instances which helped in improving my project and allowing me to get a better understanding of CiviCRM.

For GSoC 2016, I would like to work on the idea of continuing this project towards a beta CiviCRM extension that will include new OSDI's features and other significant improvements. (OSDI : http://opensupporter.org/)
I am anticipating more responses from the community and discussions about new potential ideas/features regarding this API are warmly welcomed on this thread.

Thank you.

Hi Joe,

Currently registrations are not opened yet, according to my timings they will start accepting the applications on March 15, 2016 at 00:30 (IST).
So I am up for it and waiting for the program to commence. :)

Thanks.

Hi,

First of all congratulations ! to the students selected into CiviCRM this year. :)

This year my proposal has not been selected into GSoC but I would be still contributing to my project as a maintainer. Though I'll not be completely available because now I will be taking another summer internship other than GSoC (required for course credit). Over the past month I along with my mentor Joe McLaughlin were actively discussing about setting up a cloud CiviCRM environment on Bitnami for testing this project, we together did pricing comparison and feature analysis of various cloud services providers on Bitnami so I really don't want that our work should go in vain rather it must be well utilised on this project.

Now we will mutually decide how we will be spending our spare time, maybe weekly or fortnightly to keep our contributions going for this project. We may not achieve our definite goals according to the timeline I proposed but I will try to make some significant updates to the existing project during the summer break. Plus I would be happy to help other students, if they require any assistance on setting up development environment or in any other area under my knowledge.

Thank you.
