There is no such county as 'London' officially - so should we remove it from the core county list?
Any objections/thoughts/issues?

That's fine, but I think if it's changed then it shouldn't get changed again. Last time I think it changed from "Greater London" to "London", so I ended up with lots of contacts that were "London, London".

Also, if it's changed, then it should be well publicised, as otherwise people's data could get messed up if they are relying on the county field to give "London" rather than the city field.

Agreed - it's the 'London, London' problem that we're trying to dispel.

We could have something in the upgrade script that looks for that county ID in the database, and provides a warning to users that the county is being removed.

Do you have any other ideas for ways to publicise? Other than on this forum, in the release notes, etc.
