Dear Friends,

We are looking for a temporary Database and Online Giving Manager (DGM) to manage our organizational database including the donor database. The DGM is responsible for all aspects of online and other types of gift processing and acknowledgment. He/she will work closely with Finance to ensure accurate and timely processing, receipting and reconciliation for all gifts. The DGM is a member of the Development department providing support and analytics as needed. The DGM works with other CCR staff to provide trainings, monitor data integrity, and assist with event and other program tracking and to provide reports for use in measuring program impact and reach.

Title: Temporary Database and Online Giving Manager

Start Date: Week of May 23, 2016
End Date: Approximately September 2, 2016

Location: New York City

Reports to: Director of Development

Position Summary: The Database and Online Giving Manager (DGM) manages the organizational database including the donor database. The DGM is responsible for all aspects of online and other types of gift processing and acknowledgment. He/she will work closely with Finance to ensure accurate and timely processing, receipting and reconciliation for all gifts. The DGM is a member of the Development department providing support and analytics as needed. The DGM works with other CCR staff to provide trainings, monitor data integrity, and assist with event and other program tracking and to provide reports for use in measuring program impact and reach.

Responsibilities:
•   Timely and accurate data entry for all gifts;
•   Working with Development Associate, responsible for all aspects of the gift and acknowledgment process including receipting, donation or data updates, downloading online gifts, coding donor records, on-going tracking of appeals and campaigns, and ensuring that all financial information is accurate and can be reconciled with the  records of the Finance Department;
•   May need to conduct research on source of gift/proper party to acknowledge;
•   Work with  Development and other departments to create necessary reports;
•   Liaison with Palante and other gift processing vendors for updates, trainings and troubleshooting;
•   Run periodic system updates and diagnostics including sophisticated analysis of data;
•   Make recommendations for changes to data tracking where necessary;
•   Train and support other development staff in use of CiviCRM as needed;
•   Work with the individual giving staff on the design, content and maintenance of all fund-specific web pages, which may include writing content;
•   Work with Communications’ department on overlap between website and Civi functions;
•   Ownership and maintenance of online development data including data on multiyear acquisitions, retention, and appeal performance statistics;
•   Other related work as assigned by the Director of Development.

Qualifications:
•   Minimum of four (4) years experience with database administration and support including experience with queries and data manipulation and analysis for reporting purposes preferably within a fundraising/development department;
•   Knowledge and experience with Civi and/or Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred, high level experience with some form of relational database required;
•   Knowledge and experience using word processing (Microsoft Word or
Word Perfect) and spreadsheet programs (Excel);
•   Working knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, Java; CSS) helpful;
•   A belief in the mission of the Center for Constitutional Rights, demonstrated commitment to social justice issues, and comfort working in a progressive legal environment;
•   Excellent problem-solving skills, including ability to anticipate problems and use judgment appropriately to plan solutions;
•   Strong organizational and time management skills, proven ability to plan and meet deadlines, efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines;
•   Ability to keep donor information and privileged CCR information confidential;
•   Excellent interpersonal and research skills;
•   Self-start with the ability to work both independently and as member of a team;
•   Integrity and sense of humor.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
