Need help making email work on Event Registration (WordPress implementation)

Much of our CiviCRM works but the email feature doesn't seem to be installed properly. Can you help? I can register folks for our event and the system says the confirmation letters have been sent but none of them arrive.  ???

I need to fix this in the next 3 days or in July.
