I've submitted an issue in JIRA (link below) requesting the ability to add specific tags or groups to a profile, allowing more control over which groups/tags are exposed in different contexts.

I have many over 20 years of programming experience, but no experience in PHP and I don't know much about the CiviCRM structure. In order to be of any help in developing this enhancement, I'm going to study the current code. Can someone assist by letting me know where, in the code, i can find:

• profile management code
• profile rendering code
• how profiles are stored

Beyond that, any other advice or suggestions to help me move this forward?
