Joomla Upgrading from 4.7.10 to 4.7.11
September 22, 2016, 11:38:22 am
I am trying to upgrade from 4.7.10 to 4.7.11 in a Joomla site.   My attempt announced success.   But when I attempt opening Civi, my roster is blank.   No Civi desktop.
I had downloaded civicrm-4.7.11-joomla.zip.   In the instructions provided by Civi at https://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrading+CiviCRM+for+Joomla , I read the lines:  “Upload  this file to JOOMLA_ROOT/tmp/.  Unzipping will create a directory called: com_civicrm.”    The Civi instructions are attached below.
When I copied the downloaded file to a directory in my PC (in advance of FTPing to my server files), an unzipped com_civicrm appears in my PC as a subdirectory to the copied civicrm-4.7.11-joomla.
Do I  upload com_civicrm or the civicrm-4.7.11-joomla.zip?   What file is "this file"?
I am sorry if I am being naïve, but I did something wrong and I believe it will be resolved partially by clarifying what this file is.

Thanks.

Bill

Hi,

Unfortunately I am not very familiar with Joomla, but you will have much better chances of getting a response by posting on the CiviCRM Stack Exchange:
http://civicrm.stackexchange.com/

This forum isn't used any more for Q&A any more, except for language/locality-based forums and some general discussion.

Thank you for the info, Mathieu.  I read the info about the Stack Exchange but thought this would be best.   I just got the resolution to my concerns.   I will post on Stack Exchange from now on.
