drupal my account - custom field file upload

Hello,

I'm trying to upload a file via the drupal 'My Account' page.
Found this topic -
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3050.0.html and it seems that it will not work.
Doesn't there exist a workarround for drupals session handling for uploading a file?

I'm not aware of a work-around. If you have access to resources / expertise in this area - a patch would be welcome.
