Author Topic: Custom Elements(membership) and Civicrm Profile not adding contacts to groups (Read 2000 times)

First let me give you some background.
Drupal 4.7
Civicrm version 1.6.8703

We have a Civicrm Profile setup and that profile is being used in CiviContribute to get more information from those that join up. The problem that we have is that in the CiviCRM Profile setup we see a field that allows us to "Add Contacts to Group" but when person joins up using the CiviContribute page it doesn't add them to the group. Is this by design, something that is fixed in 1.7 or are we just thinking incorrectly when it comes to this particular profile field? Did I happen to miss something that would take care of this like putting a script call in cron?

If this is by design, what method should we use to get the desired affect of adding new members to groups?

can u reproduce this on demo and if so, file an issue against 1.7

It should behave as you've said below. if not, its a bug.
