CiviEvent Price Sets
June 26, 2008, 04:21:04 pm
A customer has a CiviEvent for which they want to have several sessions, the prices of which match.

CiviCRM 2.0 seems to use the value of the CiviEvent price option as a key, which means that you can't have alternate options with the same price.

For example: there is an Event (a week long forum); for each day they have configured a price field; for each session of the day they have configured a set of price options.

Multiple (concurrent) sessions on the same day have the same price, but CiviCRM forbids this with the error "Duplicate option value".

My workaround recommendation was to make the prices differ by €0.01.

Is there a better solution than this?

(I suspect that there may have been a better way to structure registrations originally, but was asked to support this after the event had started taking registrations, so it's probably better to leave things as they are for now. However, we'd love input on how we could have made it work better by re-thinking the event registration with regard to CiviCRM.)
