Is new civicrm released for Joomla 1.5 ?
June 27, 2008, 09:38:30 pm
Hi

 Is new civicrm released which is compatible Joomla 1.5 ? We are waiting for that  component. Please inform us when it done.

We tried to install with the existing component but couldn't. Installation procedure and Error message is described below;

As per the tutorial information from the civicrm website, I have uploaded the civiCRM package ('com_civicrm'folder) to my site's
root/administrator/components/com_installer/component/ and I tried to install using installer -> install from directory . But when I try, I got one error message that "Please Enter a package file".I have enabled the legacy mode also. I tried the same procedure with Joomla 1.0 version and I could install. Can you help with this issue. ( attached error message )

Is there any chance to install the civicrm 2.0.4 to joomla 1.5.x ?

pls help .....

Thanks

Jurdy

CiviCRM 2.0 installs fine on J1.5.
That error message is because you've not entered the correct folder location for the package. Joomla requires the full directory path, not relative. So it should be something like: /home/USER/html/administrator/components/com_installer/component/com_civicrm/

If you go to Help > System Info and look at the directories tab (from within Joomla), one of the last settings can tell you what your full root path is.

Using joomla 1.5.14 eng I founded the right address, and i receive this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 116 bytes) in /home1/estufeco/public_html/horeca1/libraries/joomla/installer/installer.php on line 631

instead if I add a bottom line:
ini_set('memory_limit','64M');
into file:
configuration.php

andhome page of web site say:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_FUNCTION in /home1/estufeco/public_html/horeca1/configuration.php on line 53

and also when I try to install:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_FUNCTION in /home1/estufeco/public_html/horeca1/configuration.php on line 53

Looks like a php or mysql problem. Are you running php 5.2 and mysql 5?

yes, with joomla 1 is all right!
but with joomla 1.5:
I deleted folder civicrm from administrator/components and components folder and now I receive this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 95 bytes) in /home1/estufeco/public_html/horeca1/libraries/joomla/installer/installer.php on line 631

also if I have php.ini file in any subfolder of com_civicrm
and bluehost with .htaccess don't go and woth joomla a.5 the line I was using in config.php to put max memory to 64mb make me all joomla 1.5 ko..

Copy the php.ini to all folders in your site. You may be getting the memory error because the issue is with a folder outside of the civicrm directory. See this post for copying the override file throughout your site:
