I am missing something- user cant view assigned groups
June 29, 2008, 01:41:10 am
Sorry to get here with a first noob question.

I have read teh guide and followed the examples.

But somehow i still cant get users to view their own groups.

What did i do:

user manager (in drupal) must be able to only view his own clients.
manager logs in with manager.

1-I created a group called "managers". - added manager X
2-Created a group of "clients"-added clients(no drupal users)

"Managers" should be able to see "clients" a

3 Created an ACL Role ("manager")

4. Created an ACL (a "permission") which allows the "View" group "clients". assigned to role "manager"

5. assign user to ACL role"
- role "manager" assigned to group "Managers"

when I log into drupal as  "manager" I cannot see any group.
What logic am i  missing.

I only want users to be able to view the groups they are assigned to.

Thanks for any help

Sounds like you're on the right track. When you say "log into drupal as 'manager'" - does this mean you've logged in with a User account whose associated "contact" record in part of the Managers group?

What does this user see when logged in - do they see any CiviCRM menu items - perhaps some screen shots would help.

Also, confirm that you're using a current version of CiviCRM... :-)
