Create separate Administer CiviCRM menu item
June 29, 2008, 03:36:39 pm
I would like to create a separate Administer CiviCRM menu item so that I don't have to go into the Drupal Admin menu to get to it, since I use it frequently.  I made a separate menu item using the same link as the default Administer CiviCRM menu item, but when I click on it, it takes me to CiviCRM Home instead of the Administer CiviCRM page.  Is there some sort of context necessary for that menu item to go to the Administer CiviCRM page?  Is there a way to do what I want to do?

Thanks.

This could possibly caused by the wrong url, can u please recheck the url. You get re-directed to CiviCRM Home when you hit a wrong url.

Hmmm, this is interesting.  When I mouse over the links, they are identical, and when I look in the menu setup in Drupal, they are the same.  However when I copy and paste the link location, this is what I get for the one I created:

http://wwwmysite.com/civicrm/admin%3Freset%3D1

and when I click on it, it converts to http://www.mysite.com/civicrm/dashboard?reset=1.

For the Drupal path in the menu setup, I had only entered the relative path, but when I enter the full path, it works fine.  Why is that?

This is a known problem w/ Drupal and menu links - which I think has been fixed in Drupal 6. For Drupal 5 u need to use the full URL or the stuff after the ? get's munged.
