Import Mappings ... Other Provinces and States?
July 02, 2008, 09:46:21 am
I am working on an import for membership using version 1.9.12432

I've fixed the data to a point where only 2 records aren't importing.

One is for the Province of Quebec (State/Prov = 'QC') and the other is for Marshall Islands (MH). How do I tell the import that if it finds this, to map to Quebec or Marshall Islands.

I had the same issue with Countries where my client supplies USA in the client file and the import is expecting UNITED STATES. I fixed the data there, but am hopeful there is another way to build these relations.

The import should accept either the State / Province "name" OR its "abbreviation". Expected values are stored in the civicrm_state_province table.  You also need to make sure that Canada is enabled in your available Countries and available State / Provinces (Global Settings >> Localisation).

The Marshall Islands is a country not a state - it is in the civicrm_country table w/ the abbreviation 'MH'. You'll need to import it in the country field. :-)
