Export Participant data field options missing

When I find my participants so I can export them, according to http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Exporting+Data I should get a screen where I can select the fields I want to export.  However, since upgrading to 2.04, I no longer get that option (I did with 1.9), whether I'm using test data or live data.  This is something my client would like to be able to do, so I hope it hasn't disappeared.

Field selection upon export in CiviEvent will be available as new feature in 2.1.

Documentation page you're pointing to relates to generic export (from Find Contacts page), and field selection is available there right now. In CiviEvent, it will be available in new version.

You might want to check http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2781, this is already fixed in 2.1
