Yahoo Maps

I have a Yahoo Maps api key successfully configured at one of my Drupal sites. Everything works as expected. I have different api key configured at different Drupal site that doesn't work as expected. CiviCRM appears to accept the configuration, however, mapping doesn't work. A 'map' link is available for a Contact under list view but not when viewing a Contact's record. The 'map' loads without a map. Maybe I'm missing something in my configuration.

The behavior you describe - map link on search results but not on view contact page - occurs when mapping is enabled but the contact record(s) have not been geo-coded. If you edit one of these records, I suspect that you will see the geocode fields are not populated.

I don't recall whether the Yahoo mapping interface does automatic geocoding (Google interface definitely does). You could verify by doing Edit / Save on a contact record (while mapping is enabled) - and see if the geocode fields on the form have been filled.

If not, you might want to switch to Google. However, in all cases remember that contacts which have been added to the DB prior to enabling mapping will NOT be geo-coded. We are adding a batch script to geo-code all contacts from the command line in the 1.8 release.
