Trouble installing off current svn trunk
July 07, 2008, 01:45:58 pm
We getting ready to test new functionality for 2.1, so I've attempted to install from svn (trunk).  When I try to go to any CiviCRM page, drupal returns a 404.  I've gone over the settings once, and I didn't see anything that deviates from the instructions on the Wiki (excepting a few places where the 2.1 settings files differs from the 1.8 file used there).  Also, when I activate the CiviCRM Menu block, CiviCRM generates an error any time I try to load an admin page.

Have I just pushed my luck too far by experimenting with 2.1 at this stage?  Or is there likely something wrong with my installation?  I haven't worked too hard on this, since I know 2.1 isn't stable yet, so I'll happily admit room for user error.

hey aaron:

can u get on IRC / IM and i can walk you thru it. We have not spent any time on how to get a clean install via drupal (but need to start thinking about it)

Can you enable and disable the drupal module and that should get things to work

I just realized part of my problem is likely that I've tried to get 2.1 to run with Drupal 5, not Drupal 6.  I'll install Drupal 6 and check back in.

I have signed into the IRC channel, and I'll leave that open for a while.

If you use the right Drupal version, it goes much better.  ::)

I'm still having a minor problem with my SSL enabled part of the site, but I think that's apache/drupal related not CiviCRM related.
