Will CiviCRM fit the application I need to build with Drupal 6.2?
July 09, 2008, 04:55:04 am
Hi,

I'm new to Drupal, and as my first site, I got some complicated thing to do ???

The site is for a IT recruitment company.

I need to create a form for the users to fill in CV details like: skills / education / Languages etc.

The form will have sections in it and will show the user what was completed and what still needs to be completed.

The user must be able to save the data he captured and come back and fill in more details later.

The user should be able to edit/add/delete details.

Will civiCRM give me the tools to build something like that? And does it work with Drupal 6.2?

Thank you,

Sigal

You can define custom fields to store most types of data and build complex forms to enter / edit the info via the built-in Admin functions in CiviCRM. Check out the Custom Data and CiviCRM Profiles section of the documentation and try things out on the public demo (http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal).  You can also divide up the your input / edit data into any number of separate "profile" forms and create a block of navigation links to these forms. This works best when you require the users to create a Drupal account and access the forms when logged in.

CiviCRM 2.0 works w/ Drupal 5.x. CiviCRM 2.1 (which will be entering alpha in August) works with (and requires) Drupal 6.x. The 2.1 sandbox is at http://sandbox.civicrm.org .

Thanks Dave,

I did try the demo site, but it kept disconnecting. Everything I creates something it didn't work.

Since I'm creating my site on Drupal 6.2 and it's quite urgent, I guess I can't use civiCrm right now.

Thanks again,

Sigal
