i am in love with civicrm! just started using it and am building a database for a non profit.

i want them to use the notes section. one current limitation is that the subject field for a note is not accessible from the main edit page.

how can i add that field, so that folks can fill it out from the main screen?

I've added an issue to get this "fixed" for 2.1:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3304

(originally Notes didn't have a "subject" - and we never went back to the "add contact" form to include it)

If you can't wait for 2.1 (beta scheduled for August) - you can track the issue above and see about backporting the changes to 2.0 when it's been resolved (should be fairly quickly).
