batch update for activities
July 09, 2008, 03:23:46 pm
currently i see "batch update participants via profile which can be used for updating a status (registered , attended) for events, and updating the participants note.

What i am looking to do is as follows.. use the same batch update for recording activities,
when searching for a certain group, and you wish to create an activity for all of them, to use the "record activity for contact" is only useful if you plan on recording the same details for everyone, but if you want to record differen't information , or if you have a custom field in the activity which has a rating from 1 to 5.. you want to be able to rate each person in the activity indivudaly, using "record activity for contact" is not usefull,

how do i record an activity as a batch, and writing a detail for each individually

thanks for your help

Batch update is supported using profile. Currently we don't have profile of type "Activity". Hence it cannot be done.

3.2 allows creating an activity profile and searching the activities using "Find Activities" and doing a set of operations on the searched activities, Batch Update Activities via Profile being one of them.

You might wanna give it a try on our demo here :
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/activity/search&reset=1
Note that you need to create an activity profile with the activity status for the above to work.

Will this work for Activities that are used in CiviCase. I am trying to confirm whether Batch Updating can be used for Activities in CiviCase.
I created a Profile with Activity Status field.
I used Adv Search ( set to display as both Contacts and Activities)
Set Activities to the Activity Type and 'scheduled' but I fail to get any result from the Search even though there are Contacts with that Activity Type Scheduled.
