Hang up on reinitialization
July 10, 2008, 08:52:01 pm
I have done a fresh install of Ubuntu Server (8.04 Hardy Heron) for PowerPC.  Onto that I placed CiviCRM 2.0.  Everything went smoothly until:

# Access your new CiviCRM installation in your web browser (replace "localhost" with the address of your web server if doing a remote installation): http://localhost/civicrm/standalone/index.php
# If you see a message that says "Could not find valid configuration dir", click the link below that which says: "If this is a standalone installation and you'd like to re-initialize it, click here."

When I click on the link nothing happens.  Though once the box I was using as a server froze.

Any suggestions?

Did you ever find a way around that problem?  I'm having a similar error on 2.2.6 standalone install - except for the hang up part.
