Where is stored the email sent when changing the status of a participant ?

When you change a participant, you have the chance to send an email to him.

It seems that it keeps the previously sent message (on another participant), but I don't see it in the activity history anywhere.

It would be great to be able to send this message as a regular email activity (ie. stored in the history, the template stuff....

Am I blind and that's the same indeed? Is it on purpose that it's different ?

Xavier - We don't currently store the email message - which is the basic event registration confirmation / receipt templated email PLUS the additional message entered on the New / Edit Participant form. We store the fact of the registration as an activity, but not the email message/receipt. This might be a useful addition at some point, but it's not currently on the roadmap.

The behavior of persisting the text of the last message sent to a participant has been removed for 2.1 because users reported that it was confusing and "dangerous" (too easy to accidentally send a message to contact B that you had written for contact A). The message text default in 2.1 is the same text as used for self-service event registration for that particular event (as configured under Manage Events >> Registration).

Hi,

Could you tell me if this is easy to include the template of the send email in the edit of the participant or if I'm heading for trouble and transaction mess and what else ?

Otherwise, might as well add a send email on the view of the participant and on each list of the participants, less risky ?

Xavier - As I mentioned above, the email sent from Edit Participant is the event registration confirmation / receipt email with the  "custom text" entered on the form pre-pended to that template ( templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registration/ReceiptMessage.tpl ). Therefore adding in the regular "Send Email to Contact" tpl / code is probably not appropriate.

If you simply want a way to send a "free-form" email message to the person from the Participant View or Edit pages - perhaps your best approach is to just create a custom copy of the tpl file(s) and add the link.

Hi,

That's what I ended up doing indeed.

(mail from the paticipants list as a new action and send mail as one of the action on the participant's view)
