Installing in Joomla 1.0.15
July 11, 2008, 11:02:29 am
I'm using Joomla 1.0.15 rather than the recommended 1.0.14 version. Will that prevent me from installing CiviCRM? Because I've made NUMEROUS attempts and each one has failed so far. I tried installing according to the Installation Guide (from the Directory) and also by using the Components Installer, but neither method worked. After I click install, I am just directed to a blank page and nothing seems to have occurred. What should I do? All of the other environment settings for Joomla & CiviCRM are correct, except for the version of Joomla I am using. Is there no way of making it work with 1.0.15??????

Thanks for your help,
Pixellent

There's virtually no difference between 1.0.14 and 1.0.15. After 1.014 was released, they realized there was a line of code inadvertently left out of the configuration.php file, so they issued 1.0.15 to fix it. There literally is one line of code difference between the two versions.

So it should not be an issue running CiviCRM on 1.0.15. If you're getting a white screen, it almost always indicates a page timeout, which has to do with your memory_limit and max_execution_time settings in php. Run phpinfo() to check what your settings are. Depending on what host you are using, you can usually use php.ini or .htaccess to override the default settings. Do a search of the forums to get info on those settings.
