Register page not loading

Hi all.

I've installed CiviCRM (2.0.4 I think, going to upgrade when I have this sorted).

All is fine for me, as admin. However the register page doesn't display.

I found on the forums that I needed, in access control, to enable anonymous access to custom data. I've done this, anonymous and registered users have access to custom data, yet this hasn't fixed it.

Anyone got any ideas as to why this is? I've been through it and can find no reason myself.

In addition to 'custom data', 'profile listings and forms' permission is also required.

I've already got that setup, and it's still not working.

Any other ideas?

Can you provide more information like -
1. what message you get when go to profile link ?
2. what's the url you trying to visit ?
3. what kind of fields you have in your profile. If it has many fields, you should first try with few basic fields e.g first name & email, just to make sure profile is working.
4. which all options have you checked for 'Used For' ?

I don't get any message. The page just doesn't load. (HTTP500 error)

URL is www.sarally.com.au/user/register (although I've disabled CiviCRM while I get this fixed).

I have only 1 or 2 basic fields at the moment while I get it fixed.

It is used for "all contact types".

I disabled the custom data set I created, and still it wouldn't work. I disabled the CiviCRM custom data set, and it still wouldn't work. As soon as I disabled CiviCRM it started to work again.

Is it worth uninstalling it and installing the latest version, or upgrading around it?

I assumed you using CiviCRM v2.0.x. Which version you using ?
 
The "Used For" should at least be set to 'User Registration' if you want your Profile to be included in the New Account registration form. Here is the link that will show you what i am talking about - http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group?action=add&reset=1 (New Profile Form)

There is no way you can set it to "all contact types". Sounds like you using custom data instead of profile or something wrong there. The other options you should see for "Used For" are - View/Edit User Account, Profile and Search Results.
