London users?
July 16, 2008, 05:33:07 am
Hi

I'm in the early stages of getting to grips with CiviCRM in Drupal. I'm pretty good with Drupal but much of Civi I find baffling...  :-\

Are there any people in London with experience of this, who fancy an impromptu meet-up?

Hey Joachim - who are you doing this project for? And what part of London are you based in? Just in case my perambulations in London would make a coffee/beer an option.

Hi Peter
It's a project for Platform 3, based near Liverpool Street.

I saw in the Bristol thread though that you're only in town till Tuesday -- and I'm away all weekend and tied up Monday night...
but thanks for the offer though :)

Hello there,

I have been helping a professional society for librarians based in the UK and Ireland. They have a few thousand members, and are looking at options for a new membership database, to replace an existing MS Access-based solution.

It's a small charity with one administrator (based in London) and no dedicated IT support. On a voluntary basis I have set up CiviCRM on a drupal server for the administrator to evaluate.

I have been able to find very good of information on the technical aspects, but it would be really useful if we could get in touch with others who actually *use* the system on a day to day basis, so we can get a feel for whether it is a good fit for the organisation.

So if there are any users in London or the South East you can put us in touch with that would be greatly appreciated.

My email is: michael -dot- lenahan -at- gmail -dot- com

Thanks

Michael

Hi there,

I'd be happy to meet up and show you two CiviCRM based sites I'm working on at the moment - one as developer for Voluntary Action Westminster (London based) that were using to track (nearly all) the organisations work, and the other as project manager for WWOOF UK - slightly simpler membership based and perhaps closer to your model.  Having said that, because both of these are under development, you won't be able to speak to people that have been using it on a day-to-day basis (unless you wait a month or so).

Outside London (I think I am right in saying) there are a couple of organisations near Brighton that have been using it for a while.  Hopefully some others will come out of the woodwork!
