Can't wait to dig in. You got a few features that I've been hoping for.

Using the CiviCRM sandbox (step 3 of 5) for creation of a new event
The event created is http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/add?action=update&id=4&reset=1

Going to the next step and back again did not cause the error msg to be displayed again.

After completing creation of the event I registered once,  1 person plus three Additional.
Are the additional people also supposed o ask for name or just the email address?

I then went from the event management page and choose the "Event Fees" page. It had been a free event, during the original setup.

The "additional people" form will only ask for email address if there are no Profiles configured for the event. If you want to collect additional data (contact data like first, last name and / or participant data like meal preferences etc.) - then assign these to a profile and link that profile to Event Registration for that event. Then all profile fields will be included for each person.
