go from joomla 1.0.15 to joomla 1.5.4 or 1.5.5

I'm testing in these days civicrm, when i'll solve my import problems, I'll use it quckly on 1-5 web sites ( http://www.forniture-alberghiere.net etc.. ), with profiles and 90% of content of these web sites will come from profiles, so i desire a lot to start using it with joomla 1.5 but also I don't want to wait 2 mont to start to work on my web sites.. so:

could i install civicrm on joomla 1 and then move on joomla 1.5?
i'll not upgrade joomla from 1 to 15 but just reinstall it from zeo, so I'll have more quick and easy work , because needing to move little other things apart civicrm,

i think to do this, but in which way it could be possible?

This approach might be tricky because the CiviCRM and Joomla data are (generally) stored in the same database. Some folks are using CiviCRM 2.0 with Joomla 1.5 (legacy mode) - that might be a better approach for you.

I was thinking to test now the demo online and then start to work on alpha version.
if I'll be free to upgrade from alfa 2.1 to beta 2.1 to 2.1 stable verson, could be good!

I just need to import thousands of companies and show them on profiles splittet in groups with at least 150 tags per installation-db

I store my Joomla and CiviCRMm data in separate db. There is no requirement for a single db with joomla. This does however cause a slight problem during upgrades but a quick edit of civicrm.settings.php to fix the db name sorts it.

Should be pretty straight forward to go from 1.0.x to 1.5.x providing you follow the instructions (and realise that it is NOT supported).

ok, so I'll try to move from joomla 1.5 legacy with civicrm 2.0.5 then when we'll have alpha or beta or stabl of 2.1 I'll add it in native mode, this is the more easy way?
