Mailing Label Issues in IE 7 only

A number of people in my organization have tried to make mailing labels from a list of contacts. There is no problem with it in Firefox, but in IE 7  an error message comes up that says "Internet Explorer cannot download basic from sene.starcafecrm.org  Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later" Anyone have any idea what this might be?

What version of CiviCRM are you using? I suspect 1.9? In 2.0 we've called the file MailingLabels_CiviCRM.pdf which i think might fix the IE problem (sorry, can not test since i dont have a windows computer)

Hi Lobo,
    We are using 2.0.4. When I run from Firefox the file gets successfully created as MailingLabels_CiviCRM.pdf. I tried resetting all my IE options but it didn't help. Any other ideas?

can you ask aaron to debug this file:

packages/ufpdf/fpdf.php, lines 1038 is where we set the headers. This might be helpful since i suspect he has access to a windows box / IE7

CRM/Core/Report/Excel.php, line 167 might be a bit helpful

Hi lobo,
   Thanks to the info you provided, we were able to fix this issue. We modified a few lines in the /packages/ufpdf/fpdf.php and now the mailing labels work fine. It was related to headers required for ie7 to open certain files when using ssl; the /CRM/core/reports/excel.php file had the right headers set for ie and fpdf.php did not.

   We discovered a similar issue with the vcard download. As soon as we resolve that I will happily post both patches to the forum.

Patches for Mailing Label and vcard download Issues in IE 7

Hello lobo,
   I've attached the patches for both the mailing label and vcard download issues with IE.

Mailing label patch is for civicrmsource/packages/ufpdf/fpdp.php
vcard patch is for civicrmsource/packages/Contact/Vcard/Build.php

Let me know if you need anything else.
