Exporting Contact Membership Status Within A SmartGroup
July 29, 2008, 01:09:10 pm
Hello, I have what I hoped was a simple goal that I am having trouble achieving.

Goal: To export a list of Contacts within a SmartGroup and include in the Export their "Status" as it relates to CiviMember (i.e. Current, Expired, or Grace).

Problems:
1) I am unable to include Status as an export field.
2) I am also unable to include Status as part of a Custom Profile.
3) And I am unable to filter my results in CiviMember by searching for memberships in a SmartGroup.

How can I achieve my goal?

Thanks!

There is no "direct" way to do this currently (or even in 2.1). However, in 2.1 you'll be able to export pretty much any contact field along with the membership fields (e.g. status) - and do a saved mapping. This might help you - depending on what criteria your Smart Group uses - since you could sort in Excel by that criteria.

Otherwise, you'll need to look at creating a custom search to do this. (Info in the Developer section of the documentation wiki.)

Until 2.1 I'm just exporting separate files into Excel, and then sorting within Excel.  It works for now.  Thanks for the response.
