Modifying Default Profile Fields
June 11, 2007, 10:28:21 am
Hi,

I did a few searches and couldn't find an answer to this.  Is there a way to add/remove/change fields that show up when adding a new Individual?

For example, I'd like to make some of the fields that aren't marked as required, required.

On the same vein, I'd like to default certain fields to certain values, for exmaple, Gender=Male, member since field (i added this one) to today (this shouldn't default to today if editing, only when creating a new individual).

Thanks!

patrick:

i assume u mean the new individual/org/household screen.

In 1.7 this is configurable to some extent by using a custom template. This allows you to remove fields and change field labels. It does not allow you to add new fields (you can add them on the screen, but it does not change the code base / flow). marking fields required is also a code change

In 1.8 there is more configuration options added. You and hide sections that you are not interested in (like demographics, notes, groups, address etc). However you cannot add/remove/change fields
