Installing 2.1 from subversion
July 30, 2008, 09:23:37 am
I'm trying to get a Drupal lab setup from current trunk and having a few issues. I followed this guide:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Installing+CiviCRM+from+subversion+(SVN)+repository

After a few false starts I mostly got things set up and working. Couple questions:
1. Is there anything that's changed from this document for 2.1? I'm not sure what the implications of the module format changes for Drupal 6 are for instance.
2. None of the "Add ins" are available to be enabled (CiviContribute, CiviMail, CiviMember, etc). No error messages to this effect, they're simply not there. Do these need to get installed from somewhere other than the Civi trunk? Or did I miss something?

Is there documentation on how developers work with Civi code? Particularly since there is a good deal of generated code (just the DAO layer?), I wonder if there's a workflow document somewhere that might give me a head start.

I skimmed through the instructions and I dont think there are any changes in 2.1 (errors have a few more consequences with drupal though)

Can you check if the components are enabled in Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Enable Components

You might want to ping us on IRC if you get stuck. You can jump onto our IRC channel using the below web url:

The add-ins were unavailable because I hadn't run the civicrm-data.mysql sql file to load the default configuration data. I skimmed the docs and assumed this was the sample data, not the config data.

Thanks for the help lobo!
