Could not connect to MySQL server on clean Standalone installation

Receiving the following error message on brand new Standalone installation:

---------
"Error: Could not connect to MySQL server: Access denied for user 'tardynet_gwtardy'@'66.225.228.184' (using password: YES)"
---------

My host helped with unusual locations for socket, mysql, schema.

I checked and have full privileges, and can connect to the database using other programs and only server_name, db_name, user_name, and user_password.  What else could be wrong?  ???

I has a similar problem, and I found that manually creating the database solved the problems.

Thank you!  I'll try that procedure with the latest version of CiviCRM. :)
