Group database table: 'name' and 'title'???
August 05, 2008, 03:33:31 am
What's the difference between 'name' and 'title' in the fields for a Group in the civi database? (The table name is 'civicrm_group'.)

I've just created a group and it has the title set but not the name. Why? Is this a bug?

Unfortunately we have not been consistent with this. In general name was when we wanted to use it internally and title was the name displayed. We did not need an internal name, so kinda just use title. At some point, we'll go in and clean the schema and get rid of such appendages
