Ok, I am new around here and am used to using Raisers Edge, so trying to get my head round stuff - mostly this is ok, working with relationships etc is great.

But I have a small query... is there a way to record specific "actions" for example... we are sending out a mailing concerning a specific thing... once we have pulled the records using a search to export them to word is there a way to put an action on all of those records to say they were sent a letter on that specific date (or the name of the mailing and date perhaps)

Hope I am making sense, we need these info so we can track which corrospondence each user is getting. It may also be in future that we would send individuals mailings dependent on which previous mailings they had received.

Thanks

Dave Greenberg

You would use "Activities" for this. You can set up a new Activity for "Correspondence" (or something like that). You can add specific custom fields for that activity type if the generic Activity form doesn't have enough spots for what you want to record. Then, from the same search that you do Export from - select "Record Activity for Contacts" from the '-more actions-' dropdown. Select your activity type, enter the info and save. All recipients will now have a searchable Activity record associated w/ their contact record.

Brilliant, thanks thought it was probably something like that.
