Register to several mailing lists ?

Hi,

I'd like to gather some information about the contacts, and let them register to one or several mailing list (with the email confirmation...)

Is there a way of doing it ? The profile registration (add contact) allows to put the new contact only into one group

As for the civimail registration form, I don't find it on my install (I see civimail) Is there something to do to activate that feature or is that just a non visible link ?

(and can you register to several groups at ones ?

Hi,
There is a token you can use in mailings {action.subscribeUrl} which provides the url for subscribing to all public mailing lists.
Url looks like.
http://localhost/drupal61/civicrm/mailing/subscribe?reset=1
Or you can use specify a particular group using {action.subscribeUrl.2} where 2 is the group id and url will be like,
http://localhost/drupal61/civicrm/mailing/subscribe?reset=1&gid=2

It sends one different confirmation email for each different list. Bit cumbersome IMO. Shall I add a suggestion on the issue tracker ?

Ok,

Another point (related) ?

I'd like to have a profile added on the registration. Basically, a mix between the contact add (missing multiple group+double opt in) and the mailing register (missing profile).

Is there a way to set a status to a contact ? (eg. "pending"). It might be easier to start hacking from the contact add.

Thoughts ?

xavier, a simpler solution might be

1. Set up a profile with custom data representing your topics
2. Use smart groups based on this custom data to send your CiviMails out

You miss out on the opt-in confirmation this way, though.

In 2.1 you will also be able to include the "Group(s)" field in a profile and take advantage of the opt-in confirm feature if CiviMail is enabled...

Is there a way to limit the displayed groups on a profile to a subset (eg same parent ?)

Only "limits" are Group Visibility (Public / Public+Listings) and type (Mailing Lists).
