OpenLDAP and Outlook integration
June 13, 2007, 09:23:32 am
greetings,

after following the directions documented here:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+LDAP+Integration

i have succesfully integrated civicrm with openldap and can connect to the openldap server from thunderbird, which returns the requisite information we need.  the only problem is that the default email client is outlook 2000.  outlook connects just fine to the openldap service, but the search fails every time to return any results.  i have turned up debugging and watch the differences between thunderbird requests and those of outlook, and clearly outlook is not speaking the same language.

has anyone out there succesfully integrated civicrm, openldap and outlook?  btw, i upgraded outlook to xp pro, and still no luck.

thanks in advance.

yours,

steve

p.s. i have set this up on a testbed server:

ubuntu 7.04
mysql 5.0.38
OpenLDAP: slapd 2.3.30
civicrm 1.7 with drupal 5.x (but i do not even have the drupal nor the civicrm software installed, just hitting the database replicated from production)
