Multiple Payment Types (v 1.9.12432)

I have an event created and want to be able to offer my audience the option to pay via Paypal (working), P.O., Cheque or $ order.

How can I do this with this version?

Is the option of giving the user multiple payment options even an option in 1.9x or do I have to upgrade to get Check payments, pay later and P.O. ability?

Yes, to use Pay-by-check/pay-later option and configure different payment processors for different events you 'll need to upgrade.
