Campaigning / Petition

Just wondering about an idea for a feature for civicrm - we are doing some campaiging work so would like to be able to capture campaign / petition details and enable people to "sign" the petition on our site integrated with civicrm.

Anyone working on this already? Is it a viable idea?

Fairvote CA does this already with profiles I believe:

Hi

Not really sure, I guess we would be meaning more along the lines of allowing people to sign a petition (similar to something like care2.com) and we capture their data into the database.

Hope I am explaining myself properly here!

Thanks

CivicActions / Defective by Design has posted a module called Sign It on Drupal.org which has "some" CiviCRM integration. I haven't tried it - and I'm not sure what their plans our for porting this to Drupal 6.x / CiviCRM 2.1 - but it would be worth exploring and maybe contacting them...
