Bug? - Error messasge in civicontribute / pledge
August 14, 2008, 11:10:18 am
Running 2.1.alpha2 on Apache/2.2.3 (Debian Etch) PHP/5.2.6-0.dotdeb.1 with Suhosin-Patch Server

Clean install - no migrated data. Brand new CiviCRM user, so I may be guilty of operator error......... :-[

1. Created new contribution page (no online payment facility).
2. Included facility for making pledges.
3. Made recurring pledge, with first payment recorded today "to follow by cheque".

I can see both the contribution and the pledge.

If I try to edit the contribution, I get
Code: [Select]
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in
/var/www/stuff/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/Payment/Form.php on line 126

Same thing if I try to make a new contribution either with the same or a new contact.

I can edit the pledge - changing from monthly to weekly payments.

The first payment then disappears altogether.

If I then try to record a new contribution, I get the same error.

If I delete the pledge completely, I still cannot make a new contribution - same error.

I hope this is of some help!

Vincent

I think this is happening because all the "Accepted Credit Cards" have either been disabled or deleted (I was able to recreate the error that way). If you are not planning on supporting real-time online credit card payments - you don't have to disable the credit cards. You can simply NOT select a Payment Processor on the "Configure Contribution Amounts" form - and enable the Pay Later option.

I'll post a fix request for this since we shouldn't throw that error in any case.

If this is not the situation on your site - please see if you can recreate the error on our public sandbox: http://sandbox.civicrm.org

Absolutely right! We may move to using the online payment facility, but just right now we do not need it, so I had disabled all credit cards.

I'll bear that in mind - but was setting things up so there were no 'redundant' options which could get selected by mistake......

Thanks Dave!
