Upgrading to 2.0 from 1.9 --> Event Registrations Troubles?
August 14, 2008, 01:29:15 pm
Hello,
We just updated our database from 1.9 to 2.0, which went *fairly* smoothly as far as the upgrade process.  The trouble we're coming into now is with Event Registrations.

We have an event with price sets.  While adding new event registrations or editting event registrations in 1.9, we could not edit the price set information on the contact's information page.  We could view what price set options the participant selected.  Now with 2.0, we can add new registrations appropriately, but we cannot edit the price set options for registrations that happened during 1.9.

Also, when we export participant information, we can the Fee Level column does not show the price set options for "1.9" registrations.  It does for registrations we just added with 2.0.

Is there something we can do to update the civicrm_participant table to display the correct price options for our "1.9" registrations.

Any help is appreciated.

-Bradley

Re: Upgrading to 2.0 from 1.9 --> Event Registrations Troubles? --WORKAROUND--
August 15, 2008, 12:57:41 pm
Supposedly this issue was fixed in CiviCRM 2.0 http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2577

We escalated our upgrade cycle (from 1.9 to 2.0) to take advantage of this very feature. (cause we had participant data that was locked in CiviCRM for an event this week!) But in reality, only the export of participants created IN 2.0 version was fixed. NOW we can't edit OR export the price set data for these participants (added while in 1.9 version). So that didn't help us out a lot...

A Workaround that I found for the export feature is :

1) go to https://YOURDOMAIN.org/index.php?q=civicrm/event/search/basic
and search for the event participants you want to export.

2) On search results page, add "&snippet=2&crmRowCount=2000" to the END of the url. (with 2000 being a number greater than ALL you participants).

3) This will give you a page which you can then COPY all the affected 1.9 rows, and PASTE into a blank text document, creating the basis of a TAB separated format (good for importing into excel or something).

3) Then you can FIND and REPLACE an assortment of carriage returns, tabs, and characters, to  clean up the "columns".

4) you can even separate the different "Fee Levels" into separate columns, with creative FIND and REPLACE of field names.

5) then add column headers and SAVE as ".txt" and open in excel.

Better than nothing, but I really think this issue should be fixed...

best,
M.M.
