Joomla problems on separate databases

I am using Joomla and Civicrm on separte dbs. My problems are as follows:

1. I do not see any forms... i.e new individual- permission error.
2. All images on civicrm have broken links.

How can i fix the above problems.

Broken image links normally points to the resource URL not being correct.
