Public submit events to CiviEvent?
August 16, 2008, 09:29:49 am
Hi, I have a group that spans the whole country, and they are constantly having small events the just organize though the forum.

Is it possible for someone to submit an event for a city?  Then have a moderator approve it?

EDIT: Will be using Drupal 6 and 2.x in a few months if it is possible.

Thanks,
Jamie

Yes, but you'll want to see if the user experience is OK.

User logs into Drupal (now civicrm knows its a user)
Make sure user has drupal permission and CiviCRM ACL permission to create events
User creates event. (and can choose whether event is paid/ unpaid/ etc. - which is where some potential issues are)

No way for a moderator to approve events.. make sure that your users with permission to create events are trusted.

Moderated event creation is on the "candidate features list" for 2.2. If you have resources to commit to help make this happen - that will help push things forward...
