CiviCRM 2.1 and Organic Groups
August 16, 2008, 10:22:41 pm
Is the sync function not working between CiviCRM 2.1.x and Organic Groups? I've used a number of different combinations and w/without civicrm_og_sync.info civicrm_og_sync.info.txt with no luck.

civcrm_og_sync module is not yet fully functional module. It handles few conditions and i don't think it is updated to work with drupal 6.x.

Check http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Organic+Groups+CiviCRM+Synchronization

Updated civicrm_og_sync module to work with CiviCRM v2.1 and Drupal 6.x.
You get the changes from http://fisheye.civicrm.org/changelog/CiviCRM/?cs=16676

After applying patch copy civicrm_og_sync.info.txt to civicrm_og_sync.info Remember it is still one way sync. (OG to CiviCRM)

Too Cool!

Thank you very much - a quick fix that works - I'll give it some testing. I really appreciate the fast answer, and the expedited update to the documentation.

Two questions:
  • Is the patch now applied in CiviCRM 2.1.1?
  • Why does one "have to rename civicrm/drupal/civicrm_og_synch.info.txt to civicrm_og_synch.info"?  That is, why isn't the file simply renamed to civicrm_og_synch.info in the source tree?

1. no, it will be part of 2.1.2. the code is in the 2.1 branch

2. primarily because we thought it was a developer release and not ready for prime time. We were not willing to support it, and hence did not want to show up on the modules screen. This has been fixed in 2.1.2, which also means we'll support it to the best of our ability
