zip error?
August 19, 2008, 02:47:42 am
I end up with this error:

Error
* Error: could not find an XML setup file in the package

Warning: zip_read() expects parameter 1 to be resource, integer given in /home/clauswil/public_html/joomla!/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 235

Warning: zip_close() expects parameter 1 to be resource, integer given in /home/clauswil/public_html/joomla!/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 251

I have a php.ini in the public_html directory with the necessary changes. Maybe I should place it inside the joomla directory in stead?

You need to follow installation instructions here:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Install+2.0+for+Joomla

You can't install CiviCRM using the zip package install option. You need to use the install from directory, which involves uploading the zip file, unpacking it, and then placing that directory location in the Joomla install tool.

You don't have the directory correct where your unpacked files are. You need the full root path.

It works now. Somewhere I found the command to put the php.ini inside all directories. Another kind person has the hole php.ini on his homesite. I am running my website on bluehost.com. I misunderstood that about directory: It is not a local directory on my computer, it is on my host (drive).
