Cannot Install on J1.0.15? PHP5 MySQL 5??
August 19, 2008, 04:06:06 am
Hi,

My hosting service was running php4 but I could change it via an use option on my hosting account log in to use php5. DONE.

Also, they run MySQL 5.

So as I know this meets the requirements, but I try to install CiviCRM and it looks like it is installing, but NOPE the screen finishes and goes to the Joomla cPanel home page. I check the components menu and no CiviCRM.

Any comment, insight would be helpful?

You got a newbie here and would love to check the apache logs. Where are these log files located? Accessible vis the backend or a log file available via FTP?

Depending on your server, you may need to turn on the logs...my host, GoDaddy, requires that you turn them on, and they're only kept for 24 hours. Other hosts I've been with keep them for a month...ask your hosting provider where they are and how to turn them on (if necessary) and how to read them...

Once you've done that, try to reinstall.

If you get the infamous 'Premature end of script headers' error, try installing manually, following the directions in this post:

Hope that helps!
