Duplicate Matching Question
August 19, 2008, 07:18:09 am
It appears to me that the email-based duplicate checking only checks the primary email, which means that if I create a contact account (via signing up for an event) using my 'personal' email and then another account using my 'work' email I will now have two contact records. Is this correct? Is there any way to adjust this behavior?

We are using Drupal 5.10, CiviCRM 2.0.5.

Thank you.

no easy way in 2.0 and prior. in 2.1 we've changed the dupe match algorithm and modified a fair amount of code with regard to this to enable dupe checking on the rules decided by admin. Would be great if you could do a test drive on sandbox.civicrm.org and see if it addresses this issue
