Hi Friends,

How to achieve the following function?

Event register need to fill out some profile when they register a their first event but don't have to do that when he/she register a event next time.

It might depend on what data you want to carry forward. But if the user has an ID (so the system knows who they are) some info is carried forward automatically. or example the name and address info, but of course NOT the credit-card since it is not stored(and should not be)

To help more we would need to know which fields you are thinking of. I think the odds are best if the data is part of the person's profile and not their event record.

Thanks for your quick response.

Let's explain what we expect to achieve. When a event participant (they are not in our system yet) registers a event at the first time, We want to collect some basic information such as name, address, and other PROFILE data. When he/she come back next time, the system recognize the profile has already exist then they can just input their email address and submit it such usual. Hope I explain it clearly.

Since you explicitly say that the user just enters their email address and the remembered info comes back, then No I don't think it can be done as you describe. unless you add the user logging in

First for CiviCRM to redisplay user data collected previously, it has to have a Secure way of knowing who you are. Just knowing the users email address does not meet that qualification. You must be logged in for CiviCRM to redisplay data for you, and that requires an ID and password. Now if you are on Drupal(Joomla may have an equivalent option) there is a module that will remember that you have previously logged on to the site. Of course that will only work if you are using the same browser on the same computer and no one else has logged into the site using that computer/browser.
