Error Message when users attempt to submit custom profile
August 24, 2008, 07:45:13 pm
Hello, I successfully created a civicrm form to register volunteers on a joomla website. Everything was working perfectly - I was even able to set up a search option for board members to search the the member database.

The I upgraded to joomla 1.5.6. Now (and this may not be related) people are no longer able to register through the website (well, it's not live yet but I constantly check it using a various email addresses and unique demographic information).

This message appears instead: (p.s. I also attempted to add a redirect URL under profile settings... but I doubt this has any effect)
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

The requested Profile (gid=) is disabled, OR there is no Profile with that ID, OR a valid 'gid=' integer value is missing from the URL. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance.

Return to home page.

Can anyone out there help me figure out what went wrong???

what version of civicrm? note that 2.0 is not compatible with 1.5 completely. While folks have gotten quite a few pieces of CiviCRM v2.0 to work with J 1.5, there are a fair number of fixes that we did in 2.1 to make it work with 1.5, including fixing the front end profiles and menu items etc

I got this message too, when using a profile (with custom data and data appearing on Public User Pages and Listings) as a part of a Participant registration form for an event in Civievent. I had to edit ACL permissions for anonymous users, for example, giving them permission to: (1) access custom data (2) profile listings and forms, and (3) register for events. I'm not sure which one did the trick, but I was only getting the error with anonymous users, so it was a huge clue that it was ACL-related.

Hope this helps you.

Diana
