2.1 Installation on Joomla 1.5.6
August 25, 2008, 04:43:32 pm
Hi All,

After a lot of hard work, when I retried the civi 2.1 alpha 4 install on Joomla 1.5.6. The page went to connection timed out page but when I went back to Joomla civi was there in components.
Now when I clicked on civi Home link. It gave me 4 errors of 2 files not found (civicrm.settings.php & config.php). There was a civicrm.settings.php in the civicrm folder; I copied that into the com_civicrm folder and that got the first couple of errors resolved. The second error was because of the location of config.php which was in the right location but civicrm.php was referring to it using CRM/Core/Config.php; I changed the location of all the next few files to admin/civicrm/CRM/Core/Config.php.
This resolved the next set of errors but then I got the following
Code: [Select]
Warning: require_once(Log.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/f/t/p/ftpimtaireland/html/testcm/administrator/components/com_civicrm/admin/civicrm/CRM/Core/Config.php on line 39
and I am unable to find a Log.php file in any of the folders.
Can someone please help in getting this installed?
Thanks
Rohit

Can you check if you have given write permission to media folder ?  (chmod -R 777 media)

Hi Kurund,

Where is this media folder?

The error seems to be looking for Log.php which is not there.

:(

Any further thoughts? I am still not sure if the installation went fine as I never received any "Install Successful" message.

Regards
Rohit

In your joomla directory.

Do check http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Install+2.1+for+Joomla

Id you got a time out error then I believe you should install again. I played with the install until I was able to successfully install a new version. I even had to switch servers to a VPN in order to get rid of my installation failures... In my experience with the installation most of the errors are related to the server configuration (permissions).
