Recurring in Administration

Our client often gets the recurring payment request from their members and they want to enter it into the system.  We have only found a way to add a recurring contribution to the person logged in via the Contribution Pages, but is there a way to add a recurring contribution to other contacts?  I tried searching around the forum but I could not find any hints as to such.

There is no manual way to enter recurring contribution in CiviCRM v2.1 and below. You might want to consider contributing some resources to make this happen

Hi,
Would it make sense for us to make a Contribution page for Admin Purposes Only, and enter recurring payments we get, say through the mail? We have the same use case of needing admins to create recurring donations.

are u getting credit card numbers through the mail? the contribution pages deal with recurring contribution via a payment processor (paypal std)?

Currently offline recurring contributions is not supported. it has come up a few times in the past, so a community contribution / sponsorship for this would be great

We're getting credit cards by phone, and sometimes brought back on slips of paper from events. I think an Admin only page will work.

As i really get into this, i'll see if i can wrap my head around a better workflow and share it back!

Does 2.2 have a way to enter recurring contributions from within the admin section?

no. we have not recd any workflows and code contributions for this for 2.2 :(
