Here's a question posed by my Finance department.  I don't think there's a way to handle this in 2.1, but maybe something to consider for 2.2.

This situation is in CiviEvent where one person registers several people from their office, say an executive assistant who uses a corporate credit card that is not in the name of any of the participants.  The person with the credit card gets their bill and sees the charge and calls up to ask what the charges were for.  Currently, I don't think there's anyway to go into CiviCRM and figure this out.  The billing address is saved under the original participant, but often that address would be the same business address as all the participants.  The billing name is not stored anywhere in the system.

So for instance we use PayPal Pro for our credit card transactions and the billing name will come across on the PayPal feed.  You could potentially search CiviCRM by the transaction ID for the transaction. However, even when you find it, it won't break down the transaction into what participants the transaction paid for.

Anyway, just a thought.  Anyone else getting these kinds of questions?  I was just happy to have multi-user registration, but my Finance department always seems to want more.  lol  Such is life.
